Calling All Business Minds: Focus on Asia

Our 20,000 readers have made it clear: they crave an understanding of the business climate in Vietnam and Asia. There is no dispute that Asia is the most exciting, and equality precarious, region in the business world today. China is growing at nearly 10%, Korea is experiencing a cultural renaissance, and Vietnam is chasing close behind in both categories. Yes, it’s the new gold rush in the Wild Wild East, full of dangers, uncertainties, and riches… and we want to know all about it!

Some topics that our readers would love some insight into:

1. Vietnam is growing at 7% a year, what industry is driving that growth? What industry will be driving growth in the next 5 years?
2. Vietnam has one of the youngest populations in the world with a median age of 26 years old. How does this demographic affect business in the region? What industries will thrive in the coming years as this population age and establish families?
3. Income disparity in Asia has been an issue for years. Will the growth alleviate or worsen the problem? What can be done to grow the middle class?
4. As Bill Gates and Warren Buffett found out this summer, philanthropy is still developing in Asia. As wealth accumulate in the region, will we see more charitable activities or is philanthropy simply not a strong part of the culture?
5. How will this growth affect the poorest of the poor in Asia?
6. With any promise of great rewards comes great risks. What are come precautionary tales for those considering movement into the east?
