May is Asian-Pacific Islander American Heritage Month. In celebration, Magnetic North and Taiyo Na have released a new music video for “I Got My,” a collaboration with Jin (yes, THE Jin) and quite possibly every notable Asian American there is in this new wave of up-and-coming artists and entertainers.
Derek Kan posted on their blog:
In celebration of APIA Heritage Month we wanted to make this video a dedication to all the amazing people in our community. We reached out to entertainers, activists, teachers, students, actors, designers, dancers, writers, poets, bloggers, community organizers…anyone and everyone who gives our community strength, depth, beauty.
The description under the YouTube video lists everyone who made a cameo in this project (including the folks of Thomas’ Apartment, Wong Fu Productions, Poreotics, Vudoo Soul, Far East Movement and Phil Yu of Angry Asian Man, to name a few). But don’t just take my word for it. It’s much more fun to watch the video yourself and see how many faces you can recognize.
After you’ve viewed the epic music video for yourself, head on over to the Magnetic North & Taiyo Na website to purchase a copy of their Home:Word album. You can also check out what other cool MNTN merchandise you can get. They ship worldwide, and orders over $50 qualify for free shipping in the U.S. and discounted shipping everywhere else.
