If you haven’t heard of TED, it’s about time you take a close look. TED is a annual conference with the motto “ideas worth spreading.” Some of the most innovative ideas and projects in the world are presented at the conference every year.
A few years back, they created the TEDx program, allowing people to hold independently organized conferences. TEDx has been spreading like wild fire, and in the last couple years, it has reached Vietnam. First there was TEDxSaigon. Then there was TEDxMekong.
TEDxMekong’s theme is entrepreneurship. It is among a rising movement of entrepreneurship in Vietnam, which naturally springs from it’s young population (half of Vietnam’s 90 million people are under 27).
The organizers of TEDxMekong has asked us to spread the word about their event. Those interested in attending the event can register here before August 7th. If you don’t speak Vietnamese, you’re out of luck. The organizers mentioned to me Vietnamese is a requirement to join TEDxMekong 2011.
Best of luck to the TEDxMekong team. If you’re in the area, shoot them a line. I have a feeling one of these folks have a million dollar idea up their sleeves.
