11.22.09 – What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?
I am thankful for a chance to make a difference. Thinking about the generations that went before me, they had all the desire to make a difference, but few chances to do so. They had neither the ways or means to impact the lives of others in large scale.
Our generation is often called the lost generation. We have no great wars, no great depressions, no great movements to attach ourselves to. But at the same time, we are a privileged generation for all the same reasons. Our parents and grandparents have worked hard to afford us the luxury of doing good for others. Today, we are able to feed a child with a click of a button, fund a poor business owner with a flick of a mouse, and teach a child from thousands of miles away by talking into our computers.
Our generation is in an enviable position of limitless possibilities to do good for our fellow man. I am thankful to the people that went before me for the opportunity to be great and thankful to the people that I’ve come across that are realizing their potential for greatness.
