Tet, the Vietnamese celebration of the Lunar New Year, is one of my favorite holidays of the year (second only to Christmas). Tet this year falls on Thursday, February 3. For Vietnamese, 2011 is the year of the cat (other countries that also observe the lunar calendar, like China, Japan, and Thailand among others, observe 2011 as the year of the rabbit.) Vietnamese communities around the world are kicking off the celebration with festivals, pageants, and more. Below is a listing of Tet festivals across the U.S. and other community events in January and February.
