In the 2007-08 academic year, Vietnamese student enrollment into U.S colleges has become one of the fastest growing numbers, beating out India, China, and South Korea, by an unprecedented 45 percent. Last year 8,769 Vietnamese student were enrolled into U.S’s education institution. This year the U.S is looking for more.
The American Association of Community Colleges organized a tour with 23 participating 2-year colleges in high hopes to recruit a successful turnout of Vietnamese student enrollment. The recruitment tour was based in Ho Chi Minh City, the target hot spot for colleges. Last year, a grand 85% of Vietnamese student visas was certified in Ho Chi Minh City.
Now what ties all of these statistics together?
In the previous year, international students brought an influx of $15.5 billion into the U.S economy from school tuition and living costs. With U.S’s need for money and Vietnam’s hunger for higher education, this could be a fair exchange.

Vietnamese students did not bring in $15.5 billion into the U.S. economy. The original article says international students (from all countries).
