A group of faculty members from the UC Denver’s Center for International Business and Education Research traveled to Vietnam in January to study its emerging economy.
Cliff Young, a professor and associate dean of the Center was left with the following impression on Vietnam,
“It was like a town under rapid construction, they were trying to build as fast as they can.”
The UC Denver news article covering the trip states that although there are many inefficiencies from influential provincial governments, “Vietnam is directly pursing corporate America’s ‘China plus one’ strategy, hoping their less expensive labor costs will allow their economy to benefit from foreign investments.”
